Alexander obtained his Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from the Temple University in 2023. While there, he worked in computational virology, specifically the evolutionary and selective mechanisms driving the diversity of viral strains in rapidly mutating pathogens—an important and personally meaningful aspect of infectious disease research in the laboratory of Professor Sergei L Kosakovsky Pond. As a postdoc, Alexander is interested in understanding the complex mosaic of elements that echo deep-seated evolutionary trajectories of genetic and epigenetic dynamics delineating the progression of hematological malignancies.
Outside of the lab, Alexander enjoys the New York Giants, and good BBQ.
