Hiroe is a molecular biologist interested in epigenetic processes of gene expression regulation and in how these mechanisms contribute to cell identity during development and tumorigenesis. After earning her PhD from the University of Tokyo in Japan, she joined the laboratory of Professor Kristian Helin at the Biotech Research and Innovation Centre in Denmark where she started the current projects to identify and characterize new therapeutic targets for EZH2i resistant B lymphoma and started collaboration with the laboratory of Professor Ari Melnick where she joined as a visiting fellow in 2021.
Fun Fact: As she loves sushi as much as science, her birthday became International Sushi Day in 2009.
