Jie obtained his Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2021.  While there, he worked on deciphering the oncogenic mechanism of a novel epigenetic fusion protein in acute myeloid leukemia development in the lab of Professor Greg Wang.  As a postdoc, Jie is interested in understanding how epigenetic dysregulations induce germinal center B cell malignancy through both B cell intrinsic and extrinsic mechanisms.

Outside of the lab, Jie enjoys nature travel, animal watching, visiting museums, and watching movies.
